We hope that every school in Bristol will become an IncEdible School, looking at ways to create collaboration with their local community to open discussions around food growing, eating and the environment. Our programme supports all schools to grow some food, in whatever space is available to them, as well as to link into community projects and be aware of other nearby schools growing programmes.
Becoming an IncrEdible school is simple. We will visit and do a snapshot of where your school stands on our scale, and discuss how your students can add to what is already happening in your school around food and growing. We will supply you with an online lesson guide with practical ideas for growing successfully within the school calendar to ensure students have a positive experience as well as offer a programme of enhanced sessions.
To launch our programme we offered all Bristol schools the opportunity to enter into a competition that saw 3 schools win gardening equipment and the opportunity to create an ongoing growing project within their school and community.
