Come along and help us to plant out some winter crops as well as net them so the pigeons and seagulls don’t get them before they are ready!!
We would love to see you, gardener or not, and tell you more about the successes this year and our plans for next year as they come along!!
Everyone is very welcome and no gardening skills are required.
Come along to our regular session at Millennium Square where we are working alongside both At Bristol and Almondsbury Garden Centre to add productive and beautiful gardens to the square.
At this session there will be the usual weeding and tidying but we will also be adding more salads to the gardens and harvesting anything that hasn’t already been picked by people!!
Why not come along and give us a hand?
Come along and help us make the urban allotments at Millennium Square look spick and span ready for the RHS judges the following day….
We will be planting out more salads, beans, late peas, more nectar rich plants and finally our courgettes and pumpkins for late season crops.
Pop along and give us a hand-there should be plenty to take home too!!
Pop along and help us to harvest the early potatoes, plant out squash and pumpkin and add to the bee friendly bed with late flowering perennials and annuals to make sure the bees have plenty of food at the end of the summer season.
All are welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Come along and join us at the Millennium Square Urban Allotments!!
We’ll be harvesting strawberries, planting more lettuces and salad crops and having a great time!!
No skills are needed and all are welcome, but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
At this session we’ll be planting out beans and tying them into tripods to add some height to the beds and give the bees on At Bristol’s roof something else to come along and pollinate! The plants are, as usual, being donated by Almondsbury Garden Centre who always have a great range of veg plants that can be bought as plugs and planted out straight away!
We’ll be on site from 10 until 2 so why not pop along and say hello?
As part of Food Connections Festival our work party at Millennium Square will involve planting, weeding, watering and maintaining our Urban Allotments. Why not come along and find out more about what we are doing and why?
We will be planting herbs in our herb bed and continuing work on our bee and pollinator garden as well!
All are very welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Why not come along and help us at this work session? We will be maintaining the strawberry bed, giving it a good feed and water if necessary and then moving onto some maintenance of the herb beds. This is likely to include taking some mint cuttings and generally making the bed tidier and more useable.
Everyone is welcome although under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Our Millennium Square beds are starting to be filled with exciting crops but we are not the only creatures that we need to ensure can find plenty to eat, so on Thursday we will be creating a pollinator friendly garden underneath the solar tree.
We will be planting a range of bee and the pollinator friendly plants which we will continually add to over the next few months to ensure that there is always a food source for these creatures throughout the entire year.
And why? Well we need our crops pollinated but we also need to make sure the bees on At Bristol’s roof have plenty of forage for the year ahead so we can have some honey!!
All welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
