Our bi-weekly work party at Millennium Square will concentrate on the herb beds both in front of the new We The Curious building was well as in the bed in Millennium Square. We have mint and lemon balm which have both gone crazy and need removing, and there is lots of tidying needed in the main herb bed under the soft fruit to ensure it has enough air to fruit well.
Come along and join us! There may even be spare plants to give away!
Our Edible Park is one of the spaces we at Incredible Edible Bristol are most proud of and we are making plans over the winter to really maximise it’s beauty and productivity moving into 2018. One of the ways we will be doing that is through great use of wild flowers and wildlife friendly seed mixes that will really support wildlife in the space, as well as people.
This session will see some clearance and adding of the beginnings of these spaces. making sure that the Urban Food Trail really does support all the species in the city to be healthy!
Come along to the Bearpit Garden and help us to start the big autumn tidy and mulch!!
We will be weeding, pruning and tidying the garden as well as beginning the annual mulch of the borders that will help feed the soil and create more goodness for things to grow in in the seasons ahead.
Don’t forget that everyone is welcome, you don’t need to bring anything or sign up before the days, and just stay for as short or long a time as you can!
And we’ll bring the tea!!
The gardens in Millennium Square will be winding down a bit now so come along and help us to tidy the beds and begin to plan for the season ahead. September, as well as being harvest time, is definitely when we growers begin to work towards the year ahead and we are no different. There will be sowing of green manures, plants to split and propagate and lots more beside.
So why not come along and lend us a hand? We would love to see you and we’ll bring the tea!!
Come along and help us to tidy up the herb and soft fruit bed in our Millennium Square Urban Allotments. Over the summer this bed has become a bit wild, and now is the time to pull it back and remind it just who is in charge!!
We love our gardens in Millennium Square and we hope you do too! But we do need some help to keep them well maintained so do come along to one of our work parties and find out how you can get involved….No skills required of course, just a bucket load of enthusiasm!!
We will begin this work party at the garden at 100 Temple Street, where we will be tidying the crops that are finished and bringing the garden back into control!
Then we will wander along to the garden outside Chatterton’s Cafe, tidy and clean up that garden and sow some green manures, feeding the garden for the year ahead, and ensuring we support the growing of more crops next year.
Don’t forget everyone is welcome at this work party, and you don’t need any particular skills to join in. Just bring enthusiasm and we will bring the tea!
