Join us for a work party maintaining the gardens at the allotment site in Speedwell. We’ll be focusing on the forest garden area of the space at this work party, looking at adding paths and plants and looking at how we can add to the beauty as well as the abundance of this space.
If you’d like to join is fill in the attached form, return it to info@ediblebristol.org.uk and we will confirm your place.
This year we are taking part in Sustain’s Big Dig Day, adding ourselves to the map of community spaces across the UK and creating more links with others who are sharing skills and growing food!
We’ll be at the Learning Zone at Speedwell Allotments and the day will include some compost work, as well as planting our perennial garden and hopefully some more annual crops!!
And if you’d just like to find out more about the project and have a cup of tea, that’s fine too. Just come along-we would love to see you.
On Saturday 15th December we will be working at our new Incredible Edible Bristol Learning Zone at Speedwell Allotments.
This will be a physical but very rewarding work party between 11am and 3pm, and as always you don’t have to come for the whole time. We’re getting our new allotment ready for it’s first growing season! To do this we need to move a big pile of compost from the allotment path onto some cardboard prepared areas. We’ll have lots of fun, tea and biscuits and you will be part of creating a space for a positive future in Bristol.
We have been working hard, along with our amazing community gardeners, to begin to create a great food growing space in the gardens at Hartcliffe city Farm, and we would love to show you what we have been doing!! So on Easter Monday we will be opening the garden to all, and be available to talk about what we are doing, our plans at the farm, and how you can get involved……
Come along any time between 2 and 4 and have a look round and chat to the team. We will be giving away seeds and running a few activities for everyone to get involved with.
Ever wondered how to make successful compost bins from recycled pallets?
Or how to make compost successfully in your back garden or your community project?
Come along to this great workshop where our pallet expert, Luke and our composting expert, Sara, will work with you to create great compost bins for the gardens at Hartcliffe City Farm, which will enable you to to take these hands on, practical skills back into your garden and your community. You’ll learn about siting, making and using the bins and there will be the opportunity to talk about compost teas and feeds too!!
Come along and join us at the farm where we will be working on more beds and, weather permitting, sowing some seeds and generally getting started on the season to come.
We’ll also be cooing over the new lambs no doubt and revelling in early spring on the beautiful slopes above us!
The farm is very easy to find and there are great routes by bus (no 75), to cycle and to drive and the address is in the flyer below!!
